Stock Tip for the Week

Activision

I picked Activision because it is a profitable company with strong brands in the growing interactive entertainment industry.

Port Deal

The Homeland Security Department did at first object to the takeover of some U.S. port operations by a company based in the United Arab Emirates. It was the only objection among members of a government committee that eventually approved the multi-billion-dollar deal without dissent.
The department's objections were settled later in a review, after D.P. World agreed to a series of security restrictions.
Meanwhile, congressional leaders, the company and Bush administration officials appear to be moving closer to a compromise. It's intended to derail plans for bi-partisan legislation that would force a new investigation of security issues relating to the deal.
A D.P. World executive said the company would agree to tougher security restrictions to win congressional support only if the same restrictions applied to all U.S. port operators. FULL STORY

Stock Tip for the Week

My pick for this week is American Airlines, they annually have peaks in the next couple months. People are traveling for spring break, school trips, and summer vacations. The travel industry will boom this year especially with the warmer weather and the rise of our nations economy.

Vice President Shoots a 78 year Old MAn

Vice President Dick Cheney's spokeswoman said Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a quail hunting trip in Texas. The accident happened at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas. The property's owner said the 78-year-old victim is "alert and doing fine," after Cheney sprayed him with shotgun pellets while trying to shoot a bird. The man who was shot was a 78 year old attorney named Harry Whittington. The ranch's owner, Katharine Armstrong, said that Whittington was mostly injured on his right side, with the pellets hitting his cheek, neck, and chest. Cheney's spokeswoman, Lea Anne McBride, said the vice president is with the victim and his wife at the hospital. Armstrong said that Cheney was a life long friend who visits the ranch to hunt about once a year, and is often visited by President Bush, where he was pictured riding his bike with Lance Armstrong.

Iran ends voluntary cooperation with IAEA

Iran said Sunday it has ended all voluntary cooperation with the U.N. nuclear watchdog but would still hold talks with Moscow on a proposal to enrich Iranian uranium in Russia, reversing an earlier decision to abandon those talks.Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran had implemented the president’s orders to end voluntary cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had ordered the move Saturday in response to the U.N. agency decision to refer Iran to the Security Council over fears the country is trying to develop a nuclear bomb. It means Iran will resume uranium enrichment and will no longer allow snap IAEA inspections of its nuclear facilities — voluntary measures it had allowed in recent years in a gesture to build trust.

Milk Does A Body Good

Maybe there's something to those "Got Milk?" ads. Helen Barth celebrated her 108th birthday Wednesday at a suburban Rochester, N.Y., nursing home. The former substitute teacher doesn't credit any one thing to her longevity. But she said she consumed plenty of milk and treated herself to ice cream at bedtime. And she stayed active all her life, volunteering for various civic groups in the Rochester area. She swam frequently until she was older than 100, and lived on her own until she was 107.When asked what wisdom she has gained from living so long, Barth said the key to old age is to "mingle, be friendly and take things as they come."
